    Group Project RFPs

Each summer we reach out to local non-profit organizations to identify existing social service/community needs that can be addressed via the ‘group project’ component of our Signature Program. NPOs submit their needs through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. RFPs are internally reviewed, and qualified projects are provided to the incoming class as a library of projects they can consider for small group projects.

  • Cathy Lyttle

Worthington Industries has benefited greatly from sending our colleagues through the program.  It expands their thoughts about the community and their network.  They get outside our walls and the community becomes their learning lab.  I have seen Leadership Columbus inspire our employees to find their passion and strive to make a difference in our community.

    Cathy Lyttle
  • Chris Rutter

Today was life changing for me. I have more in my life than I ever thought. I have friends and family who love me, I have a place to call home, I have money in my pocket and food on the table. I take all of this for granted every single day without even knowing it. I knew Leadership Columbus would change me, but I had no idea the impact of that change. I can do better, and I can do more. These organizations need help and we must step up and step in to help end poverty in our own backyards.

    Chris Rutter
  • Jeff Carpenter

The Opening Retreat, facilitated by the renowned Center for Creative Leadership,  included three different leadership and personality evaluations that have been invaluable as I work on my own leadership skills.  Equally important is that the program, including the exposure to amazing individuals in my class, has provided incredible insights and perspectives that will not only help me, but my organization succeed into the future.

    Jeff Carpenter
  • Jim Flynn

LC has meant lifelong friendships, humility and lessons in servant leadership.

    Jim Flynn
  • Karen Heiser

LC created the burning platform and gave me the the tools, confidence and motivation for sustained involvement in our wonderful community.

    Karen Heiser
  • Katie Suty

I thought I knew all there was to know about Columbus, until the Leadership Columbus Signature Program opened my eyes to diverse programs and aspects of the city I had never interacted with. The program is intentional in getting me out of my every day and really opening my eyes to Columbus as a community rather than just a city. I have been given opportunities to engage in a new way, not only through networking and connecting with my classmates, but also in gaining a more in-depth understanding of city leadership and services. This experience has been transformative both personally and professionally. More than gaining knowledge of Columbus, the Leadership Columbus Signature Program will grow your heart for Columbus as a community.

    Katie Suty
  • Tom Walsh

Leadership Columbus has really helped me grow both personally and professionally more than I ever could have imagined. I learned an incredible amount about the city and the different roles so many people play in the mosaic of our society. I leave this program having learned an incredible amount and having made such wonderful friends and memories for what will be years to come.

    Tom Walsh
  • Warren Strauss

Leadership Columbus is an eye-opening and brilliant experience to help inspire and engage generations of diverse and talented leaders for our city.

    Warren Strauss
  • Will Chinn

To people who wonder if its time or if the Leadership Columbus Signature Program is worth the commitment – I would only say one thing, have a bias towards action, always attempt to improve, always spend your time to do something better. You will not be disappointed. The program provides a wealth of high value resources that are timely, relevant and will help you and our community in all future endeavors.

    Will Chinn
