November-December 2010 Follow the Leader!

Welcome to the November–December 2010 edition of Leadership Columbus’ Follow the Leader enewsletter.

If you have any questions about any announcements in our newsletter or you’d like to place a news items, contact Laurie Marsh by the 10th of every month.

Leadership Columbus’ mission is to develop leaders who are well informed, committed and passionately engaged in creating a vital and thriving community for current and future generations.

SAVE THE DATE – APRIL 6, 2011 Women of Achievement Luncheon

The Leadership Columbus Board of Trustees is pleased and proud to announce our very own Executive Director, Laurie Stein Marsh, has been named a YWCA Woman of Achievement for 2011 and the luncheon celebration will be on April 6, 2011. Also receiving this award is Patti Eshman, VP of Community Relations and Leadership Columbus Board Member Details can be found by visiting the YWCA website.

AND, our connection with the YWCA does not end there! Elfi DiBella, LC board member, has been at the helm of the YWCA as President and CEO since early 2010 and Adrienne Selsor, YWCA Director of Development,  is also a board member of LC. (But they assure us no strings were pulled to garner awards for Laurie and Patti!) Please plan NOW on attending the luncheon. In addition to honoring the awardees and celebrating the 125 Anniversary of the YWCA, you will see many of your fellow grads and classmates – it will be a Leadership Columbus/YWCA Achievement FunFest!

Getting Ready for Holidays!

In thinking about your gratitude for the experience you’ve had through the Leadership Columbus experience as well as the great friendships and connections you’ve made as a result of joining the LC family, we would welcome any contribution you deem appropriate to help us continue and strengthen our program for upcoming class members and events for the membership association. You are also able to earmark your contribution to our endowment that helps individuals who are not corporately sponsored to attend Leadership Columbus. We previously had an annual drive every year geared toward our alumni (many leadership programs throughout the country hold annual campaigns), but because we know you are all committed to the causes you care passionately about (many of which you discovered because of your LC experience) we held back on asking you to give back to us. But, as a small nonprofit, we prefer the expression “Community Benefit Organization”, we hope your experience with other organizations can be linked back to your involvement with us, and therefore would enthusiastically continue to support our mission! Please make your check payable to Leadership Columbus and send it to Laurie Marsh at 150 South Front Street, Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43215. Here are the current contribution levels:

$50 – Servant Leader
$100 – Trustee
$150.00 – Uber Steward
$200.00 – Community Leader Extraordinaire

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to reconnecting in 2011.
