Leadership Columbus Invites Nominations for the Hall of Fame Awards
Leadership Columbus, Columbus' premier community leadership program, has announced that nominations are being accepted for the Leadership Columbus Hall of Fame Award. The deadline for nominations is June 25th, 2008.
This honor is designed to recognize and acknowledge the accomplishments of graduates who have made significant contributions through exemplary community trusteeship. Past Hall of Fame Inductees include:
- Ahmad Al-Akhras, Class of 2000
- John Bickley, Class of 1989
- Mike Curtin, Class of 1990
- Melissa Ingwersen, Class of 1988
- Cathy M. Lyttle, Class of 1993
Individual Nomination Criteria for Hall of Fame Awards
Award recipients must be graduates of Leadership Columbus or Focus Columbus. Nominees must demonstrate leadership and/or stewardship in a way that directly impacts the community.
Award recipients will have made contributions in the following ways:
- Provided ongoing support to the Columbus community through leadership and trusteeship roles with various non-profit organizations
- Served as a champion for a stronger Greater Columbus community
- Demonstrated significant leadership and advocacy for policies that strengthen greater Columbus
Nomination Guidelines: Anyone can nominate a Leadership Columbus graduate by visiting our website at www.leadershipcolumbus.org and downloading the nomination form.
In addition, Leadership Columbus will recognize an outstanding Group Projects known as the "Walk the Talk" Award. The Project will be selected by a committee of Leadership Columbus Board Members.
Reception and Awards Presentation
Awards will be presented at Leadership Columbus' Best Party Ever on July 16, 2008 at COSI from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $30.00 for Leadership Columbus Association members and $45.00 for general admission.
There will be a reception, awards ceremony, a Non-Profit Exhibitors Show to introduce grads to nonprofits that would like L.C. grads to become involved with organizations, and fun, fun and more fun! All Leadership Columbus graduates and stakeholders will be receiving an invitation to the event around mid-June.

Since 1974, Leadership Columbus (originally called Columbus Area Leadership Program) has been building a legacy of trusteeship through the development of community leaders committed to guiding our region to its highest vision. The programs of Leadership Columbus offer opportunities to strengthen personal leadership skills, explore solutions to community issues and create a network among local leaders from diverse backgrounds. The Leadership Hall of Fame Award recognizes graduates who have taken this mission to heart and have continued the legacy of contributing to our leadership pool and becoming trustees of our community. In 2003, Leadership Columbus was recognized as one of the top five leadership programs in the country.
